Winter

Winter light at the river mouth

I think nature has the the best textures whether it’s a parting of the wool on the warm body of a sheep, or the glistening wet river pebbles.

The subdued winter light really brings out the contrast and depth. Here in the south even in winter the light can be so bright and it can be hard to see any detail in the sharp sun-rays so I always appreciate the days (which are few here) of dull cloud diffused light that my eyes can easily adjust to and I can look far into the horizon.
